Now that I'm thinking about it, it's so funny that genetics texts avoid
the correct form of genetic diagrams only so they could not show the
appearance of cro-magnons in it...

Says a lot about science in the hands of cro-magnons.

Almost all such authors revert to the so-called "tree diagrams." In a
tree diagram there's no way of showing a new species formed by mating
two different species. So the last part of the "branch" for humans has a
Y fork, one representing the Neanderthals, and the other the homo
sapiens sapiens. No cro-magnon line in between! Very cute. Fraudulent in
fact.

The correct diagram should allow new species as a result of mating as
well, which requires rhombi (or parallelograms) that sometimes bring one
species to another to form yet a new species continuing from that point
on. But you don't see such diagrams often at all. In such a diagram, a
branch from the Neanderthal line of the Y departs it and meets a branch
that had departed from the homo sapiens sapiens line of the Y, to form
the cro-magnon species continuing from that point up; that is, your
nightmare!

And for such a diagram to be exact, it should also show the mating of
homo sapiens with neanderthals twice, the older of which representing
the first time around that cro-magnons were formed, and the line
representing them stops sometime before the last ice age. The more
recent should form right after the last ice age about 45 thousand years
back. And the line for Neanderthals of course should stop around 24
thousand years back, this time indicating their actual extinction.

Science, in many respects, are today in the wrong hands. It's place is
among the Modern Humans, not the cro-magnons. It has been quite
accidental that cro-magnons got the chance to develop it. It's a "short
term" situation.

Would we want to go back to where we are today? Spengler used the term
'civilization' in a slightly different sense. Cultures were born, went
through a period of vigorous growth in their springtime, matured, and went
into a decline before becoming a footnote of history. 'Civilization' was
the end stage, an old, tired culture coasting along on its past successes.

While I am immersed in technology I tend to be a Neo-Luddite. Spengler,
Heidegger, Ellul. Linkola, Sale, Berry, Jensen, Kaczynski, and others have
made valid observations about technology. I'm not big on the bright green
environmentalist faction. They're selling bandaids rather than looking at
industrial capitalism. 'We just have to drive Teslas and build more solar
farms to keep our vacuous lifestyle afloat and our iPhose 57s charged'.

Even NOAA and the CDC can't agree on that. NOAA says heat and the CDC says
cold.

Personally, I'll go with cold. I've spent time in the desert in southern
Arizona. As long as you have water and shade up during the hottest part of
the day you'll make it. At 20 below if you can't find shelter you're going
to die.

where it ain't s'posed to be. The autosomal DNA in 23andMe's ancestry
report doesn't help with 99.8% European, 0.1% trace, and 0.1% who the hell
knows.

My grandmother was a Quebec convent girl with no backstory and that's how
I got interested in the DNA thing. Since the French were more 'make love
not war' with the NA population I was curious. Nope, 0% NA, so I can't be
the next Liz Warren or any of those other pretenders.

So now I've donated my DNA to the NSA, FBI, CIA, and who knows what else.
At this point in life I don't care.

Google isn't my friend today but I would love to find a TV show made
during the global cooling scare. About all I remember is a suburban family

The way humans are today is just ridiculous. Very fragile and dependent
on other life forms. Horrible limits in fact. We can't live outside of
at most 200 degree F of temperature interval. We're goners in this form.

We will be AIs. Immensely more capable and more lasting, We'll get

At one point "scientists" (so-called) were trying to figure how to put a
giant black tarp over Greenland (or the Arctic?) so they could melt the ice
and save us from global cooling. At least one of those "scientists"
immediately jumped on to the global warming bandwagon when "global cooling"
turned out to be a dud.

If these "scientists" can believe cow farts will cause global warming, what
won't they believe?

Both.

With global warming, the equatorial regions are becoming less habitable, which
will trigger mass migration and create conflict (war).

Likewise, the same warming destabilizes the polar regions leading to the 'escape'
of its coldest conditions - - that's the source of the polar vortex currently over the USA.
As such, regions further north will become less habitable too, which will also trigger
migrations and create conflict.

As conflict "destroys stuff" we'll be less capable of maintaining what we have now.

Indeed, for the distances are simply too far, even at 0.01 light. As such,
there may be ways to save the species, but not anyone born on Earth.

Case in point, last fall, the NASA Parker Solar Probe broke the record for
fastest human-made object ever recorded while doing gravity slingshots
between Venus and the Sun. It reached a "blistering" 394,736 mph ...

....but that's just 0.0006 light speed

If we could apply that peak velocity to go to Proxima Centauri, the closest star
system to Earth (4.25 Light-Years), it would take 4.25/0.0006 = 7,083 years.
