When for a particular reason one uses the word "German American" it has
its own reasons for using that term and it is perfectly ok.

But that's now how the term "African American" is used. Americans,
government and people, the press, and businesses, _always_ refer to them
as African American for absolutely no reasons.

If Americans did that to German Americans, then you'd very quickly get
very pissed and very much aware of what I meant by that :)

The Big Bang Theory was incredibly funny until they brought in the
girlfriends. Then, it turned into garbage fairly quickly. When Penny was
the only female on the show, it was top notch. As for Seinfeld, most of
it is classic but the first two or three episodes are pretty hard to watch.

I've watched a few Seinfeld episodes (maybe 10 or so). It was okay, but not
something I couldn't miss. Honestly I haven't watched a lot of TV for quite
a while.

I didn't watch it enough to know who you're talking about — I assume one of
the two main characters.

I'm currently downloading Rocky Linux 9 (Cinnamon version). I think I'll
install it over the Fedora 39 SSD install. I don't need to be on the
"cutting edge" and I'm curious to see what the new "CentOS" looks like.

I liked shows like The Simpsons, Seinfeld, but now I can't really sit still for
that kind of stuff. I'll have local news or sports (especially soccer, like
right now) on in the background, but I also have this Lenovo in my lap.

I will say at one point I would scan the channel guides and I watched
"Alien Resurrection" in bits and pieces over time. My favorite scene was
when the quirky scientist was embedded in a sac and he saw the hybrid
alien being born, and coaxed it to him with "Come here, come here!" like you'd
say to a dog. And then the infant ripped his brain out.

I used to be a big TV watcher. I still own one, but it's such
garbage. I watched the Super Bowl, and I sometimes get the urge to
watch PBS's news/politics/documentary stuff, but little else is of
interest, than such things.

I did watch (all together) three or four early seasons of the Simpsons. They
were pretty funny. Not a soccer fan. But I'll watch baseball games (if they
show up on MLB.com as the "free game of the day").

I watched the original Alien movie but I don't think I watched the sequels
(at least not all of them). I don't watch anything on TV, however, I can't
stand the ads. If it comes to watching something with ads, I don't watch it.

I'm waiting to see how bad Amazon Prime is since they introduced ads into
Prime Video. The cheap Netflix ad supported subscription isn't too bad.
The ads are infrequent and short. otoh, Amazon's Freevee is a pain in the
ass.

I have Prime for shipping, but I hardly ever watch movies on it. I don't
think I've watched anything at all on Prime in four or five months. I'm sure
not paying extra for the ad-free version.

As for Netflix, the idea of ads is weird. I don't watch much on it either.
My wife does a little. I don't even know why we have it, move its original
stuff is horrible.

I could watch Midsomer Murders, Line of Duty, and 1923. With streaming
it's separate subscriptions, Acorn, BritBox, and Paramount. I never had
cable but it's the same and not worth it to me.
