Because it wouldn't be compatible. So it's useless to try to launch a
war already lost. So they provide another way to be compatible.

You just need to know what Docker is to now it's impossible. It's
obvious they would have abandoned the idea before it started. It's like
trying to put oil in an electric car: it won't work by design. Docker
just can't run natively on Windows. It can run in a virtual machine
running on Windows. Guess what: it's what WSL2 is used for.

Thy new they had to give up from the start. I hate Microsoft: it doesn't
mean I consider the people working for them stupid. If you can provide
me a serious link explaining that they really tried, I'll read it. But
I'm pretty sure you won't and so I'm pretty sure you are just wrong.

Yes, but no. I don't consider ChromeOS as a Linux distro in the same way
I don't consider Android as a Linux distro. OK, it runs Linux at its
core, but everything else is as far from the Linux philosophy as Mac OS
is from the BSD philosophy.

So, if you want to consider ChromeOS and Android as Linux distros, I'll
understand but I'll disagree.

I mean things like Walmart (we don't have it in France): something with
a lot of things to buy when I go outside of my home. Not the little shop
lost among other shops. I don't know what BestBuy or Microcenter are.

But clearly, I never saw any Acer, Dell, HP or Lenovo shop in town.

We have Carrefour, Auchan, la FNAC, Darty in France. They may have a
website, but I can walk to go inside to buy something and go back home
with it.

I did my search a few years ago when I bought my laptop, and I needed to
search. If I wanted to buy a Windows computer, I could have done it in
the first shop which buy computers I would have been able to find.
