Is there some possibility that you could ask a question that's about
Thunderbird? Is trolling actually necessary? Can't you just act like a

Seriously - get used to the fact that your "GG" is *not* the usenet.
Google sucked up many of the established newsgroups in the usenet some years
ago. But the whole mechanisms of these "groups" are /very/ different.

If you want to use newsgroups like alt.comp.software.thunderbird further
(with Thunderbird maybe) go and learn a little bit about the usenet and it's
functions.

Google is burning down it's bridges to the decades older usenet at the end
of this month. So better get started to find a usenet-server you can use
in Thunderbird and learn how to use it. And stop whining of "GG".

GG doesn't carry all newsgroups available in Usenet. Won't matter in

Well, Henpecker has found how to use Tbird to do Usenet using
Eternal-September, so he's just creating noise and wasting our time
while GG is in its death throes.

Oops, that's 13 days. However, I haven't seen any Google Gropers for
many years as I filtered out that noise source long ago.

one of their "austerity" purges? That they don't even have anyone who
knows how to use Usenet to ask for help?

a bit more chill on the matter? Usenet's hiërarchical metadata scheme is
piss-poor compared to the state-of-the-art anyhow (humans just _love_
putting things into boxes instead of putting tags on them…) and being
pedantic about organizing things just takes away time you could use to
make a more meaningful contribution, even if it's off-topic.
