Yeah, it's steamwebhelper. It seems to have some kind of memory issues,

How much RAM do you have?

Also, you can use system tools to (try to) figure out
what a process is up to:

man strace

"strace - trace system calls and signals"

So if you have a process (say) 2054098, you could try:

$ strace -p 2054098

(Note that this will spew a bunch of syscalls and signals to
your screen if you run it on the process in question. So
be ready with ctrl-c. ;) )

I did this on my own system, and found the steamwebhelper
process to be running a polling loop, with occasional
reads from /proc/2054098/status. Some kind of supervisor
for the web browser threads? (Beats me.)

top says it's using 2% CPU. However, this is my CPU:

AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3970X 32-Core Processor

16GB + 8GB swap file
