The world’s worst kept secret is that there’s a cash economy, and it’s
where illegals in the US make a living.

By doing this politically motivated “crackdown”, FL politicians knew that by
driving out that part of their cheap labor force, it would cause costs in
construction, landscaping, farming, and other industries to quickly skyrocket.
That’s directly in within FL government’s control (hence, “2023 SB 171”), so
that cost increase is directly on the FL government.

chrisv doesn’t want to acknowledge that it is the government who has
laws against fraud, and the responsibility for legal enforcement.

In FL, the sad reality is that many within their cottage industry of systematic
insurance fraud are active political donors to the FL Republican Party.
That’s why their crimes of fraud aren’t being pursued and persecuted.

This thread is merely just YA example where he volunteered an opinion on a topic
he’s not well versed on, and gotten slammed by someone who is well versed.

The TL;DR is that I’ve seen my P&C costs in FL explode under DeSantis and I’ve looked
into their causes and found that the excuses offered to the public are utter bullshit.

Especially the spin where it’s all due to hurricanes made worse by global warming, but
that global warming doesn’t exist either(!), so there’s no need to invest in mitigations .
