I've been playing with it, and it's an incredibly impressive
accomplishment for a cross-platform app using its own graphical toolkit
on SDL to run so well on Android. There's still a lot of platform
integration stuff that doesn't work right (text inputs, copy/paste,
registering handlers for protocols and file formats). But it *looks*
gorgeous.

I tried also it, it looks like the desktop version.
The navigation works fine but it crashed when I opened a second tab.

I didn't experience any crashing, but the app took over some of my file
type associations on my Android systems, so now every time an app wants
to open something I'm getting asked if I want Lagrange to open it or
not. This includes unrelated things like contact phone numbers. Last I
check, Lagrange doesn't handle phone calls or messages!

Same here; it's all that OS integration stuff that's not in the
alpha. Managing file and protocol associations, and notably, permissions
(you can't save files or open local files). Still looks nice, though.

Make sure to report this on GitHub if you haven't already. This is an
important bug. There's a chance skyjake already knows about this maybe,
but he doesn't seem like an Android user, so he might not.

Sidenote: Is it best to reply above or below the quoted text? I have
seen some people write it above.

Heh this is a battle as old as time. I think most folks prefer "bottom

Hello there. I haven't been keeping tabs on the newsgroup so thanks for
the heads-up, Ben.

The file association thing is probably due to an overly-broad
declaration in the app manifest. I'll change it to something appropriate
for the next build.

It seems like most people are doing below. I avoid quoting the entire

Welcome! The newsgroup is not yet very popular, but it is still
currently growing from what I can see. It was thought to be a suitable
replacement for the mailing list after the list went down.

Thanks, that sounds great.

The standard for Usenet is to reply below quoted text, and to only quote
as much as is needed to provide minimal context for your reply. One can
also interleave replies with short quotes.

Oh wow! I never expected that Lagrange will be ported to Android. I've
been looking for a good Gemini browser for Android in while now. Thanks
for sharing this.

Yes, and just as I was about to reply to you Alpha 5 was released. I am
really impressed with the pace of development for porting Lagrange in
Android. Perhaps the lack of a free, decent browser sparks people into
action.

Oh damn, I wasn't expecting that!

imo Deedum is decent, but it doesn't do all what Lagrange can do...

Deedum is alright. It's a bit clunky though and it feels like it could
do a little more polish. I have been using Ariane prior to this but it
seems like the developer just imploded for some reason. What a shame.

Either way, it's all history now since Lagrange is being ported.
