Hi all,

Could someone please help me to distinguish and understand the dates that are associated with the below attributes:

Study Date (0008,0020)
Series Date (0008,0021)
Acquisition Date (0008.0022)
Instance Creation Date (0008,0012)

For my use-case, I would like to obtain the earliest, date (for the DICOM study) in which the patient was scanned. With this, I'm assuming that this date would apply to the Study Date attribute, however, it is unclear to me if the Study Date might reflect a date that does not represent the scan date (in this use-case, I would not want this date).

Assuming the implementer is complying with the standard, in which the Study Date is defined to be when the Study "started", then that should, theoretically, be the earliest.
