Hello everyone

COBOL is starting to get somewhere on Exercism. I started the "gnucobol" track late last year. Recently a new crop of enthusiasts arrived. The track is now called "cobol". We've settled on a TDD testing framework: cobolcheck.

At some point in the not too distant future we hope to launch the track. Then I'll be back here to encourage all who will to sign up as mentors.

The repo is at https://github.com/exercism/cobol . Three main contributors at this point: https://github.com/exercism/cobol/graphs/contributors

--- Bruce

Am I the only one who has no idea of what this is about and how it might
help me using Cobol ?

No, there is no description on the website.

Ok, clarifications then.

https://exercism.org/ describes itself as
"Get really good at programming.
Develop fluency in 59 programming languages with our unique blend of learning, practice and mentoring. Exercism is fun, effective and 100% free, forever"

I expect cobol will be the 61st language (I know of another that's closer to completion than is cobol)

So Exercism isn't going to help the mature, but it does provide a framework wherein the mature can pass on their experience.
