After a long period of beta testing, I'm pleased to announce the release 1.0 of Tcl-blend2d.

Tcl-blend2d is a porting of the Blend2d vector graphics engine (see at blend2d.com) providing high-quality and high-performance graphics.

Tcl-blend2d is distributed with precompiled binaries in a single package for Windows x64, Linux x64, and MacOS.

Are there any instructions for installing Blend2d, in particular on Windows?
I see a Zip archive, on blend2d.com, and a basic tutorial for using it, on wiki.tcl-lang.org, but no installation instructions.

The package contains prebuilt binaries for Win-x64, Linux-x64, and MacOS. Within the package, you can find a reference manual and a lot of demos.

Thank you for replying. I have never used Blend before and the Tcl binding looks interesting.
(I used to use Tcl a lot in my cross-platform programming work, but have have not used it much in the past 12 years.)

Based on your helpful advice I did the following:

Downloaded the Zip archive blend2d-1.0.zip.
Extracted it into folder "C:\ActiveTcl\lib\".
A folder named "C:\ActiveTcl\lib\blend2d -1.0\" was created.
The created folder name had a space in it so I renamed it to remove the space, just in case.
Launched ActiveState Tcl 8.6 wish.
Messed around with the first example in the "Getting Started" section but nothing happened.
Realised the example was incomplete. Eventually figured out the following Tcl commands:

package require Blend2d
BL::Surface create mySfc
mySfc clear
mySfc fill [BL::circle {200 200} 50] -style [BL::color orange]
image create photo photo1
mySfc writeToTkphoto photo1
label .a -image photo1
pack .a

It seems to have worked because an orange disc on black background appeared! ( "Getting Started" did not say what to expect.)
Then I found lots of example scripts in the demo folder. Now I can get really get started.

Thank you for this impressive Tcl extension.

A couple of things:

1. This Tcl-Blend seems like something that would have wide appeal outside Tcl hackers.
I wonder how many beginners would be put off by the lack of detailed instructions.

2. Expecting a user to install by extracting "under any directory in the auto_path variable" is very 1990's.
I wonder how many beginners in 2023 would even think of that.

Also Google Groups seems practically unusable with my Web browser because when I type a new line it scrolls below the bottom of the window.
