Sure does pay to check the local shopper rag. Recently picked up a Ruger 10/22 50th Anniversary edition carbine. Unused condition, less than three Franklins. Along with that, a CZ model 512, .22 WMR also unfired, for under four.

Plan on putting the CZ to work as a pest control device, should suffice for
everything from ground squirrels to coyotes. As for the Ruger, an occassional shooter, to be sure, just like my US Shooting Team 10/22. Probably not as accurate as that one, but since I over paid for the USST version and definitely underpaid for the 50th Anniversary, I figure I came out even...

Nice pickups! The 10/22's are always fun.

I think maybe 22WMR is a little light for use on coyotes, unless it's
very close range and a head shot is assured. I do love the round, but
don't think it's good enough for that critter.

.... Gone crazy, be back later, please leave message.

I don't own any CZ rifles or handguns yet, but have been impressed with those
I have test fired. The local distributor has occasional dealer events
featuring a manufacturer or two, and rent the range I belong to.

I won a 10/22, and swapped the barrel for a Green Mountain match barrel,
added a Boyd's stock, replaced the trigger and hammer with a Volquartzen
target trigger. If I bought another 10/22, it wouldn't stay stock for long.

Actually the 40 grain hollow point at close to 2000 fps is considered to be
quite well suited for coyote control. There are even some .22 LR loads that
are suggested for taking them, but I wouldn't go THAT light. Actually, I'd
rather go with .17 WSM for coyote, but that's a few extra dollars to spend that
I don't quite have at the moment.
