If I am making a podcast would an ipad be ok tool to use or just stay on my .
pc?

Either would work, but make sure you're using a good microphone. A Blue Yeti or
the AT2020USB+: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016YL4POK

You'll have more editing software options on the PC, but if you're not going to
do a lot of post production, an iPad should be fine.

those blue snowballs are decent microphones too. i got one for my girlfriend and i was amazed how well it worked.
