Summary: How to break out of netboot loop?

I've got a rather early Pi2 v1.1 (so, armv7) that is getting
stuck in a netboot loop. Is there a keystroke sequence on the
serial console that will break out of the loop, or at least
force a reset?

The console displays

....
Trying booting from Ethernet device addr 5
Initialise ethernet with MAC b8:27:eb:1a:5a:4b
Wait for Link up
Failed to initialise link
....

Thanks for reading,

I think that's just a debug log, not a console, BICBW...

Thank you, that's an interesting link. I've added an empty file named
UART to the microSD card's msdos partition to see if behavior changes.

As it happens, the problem clears up if I power down the Pi, remove and
replace the microSD card and re-apply power. That makes me wonder if the
microSD socket is somehow faulty. It's the early style of push-to-latch,
push-to-eject socket. Power cycling alone doesn't clear the fault, moving
the microSD seems also to be necessary. Does this ring a bell with anyone?

Thanks for writing!
