RPi4. Streaming fine with Netflix, Hoopla, PBS. Netflix
required spoofing the Chromium userAgent at some point, but
it's fine. However, HBO Max returns unsupported browser no
matter what userAgent I give it. Anyone know about this...
or know why Chromium on ARM is stuck at v. 92?

Not sure what Chromium you are using. Under Bookworm I see:

Version 122.0.6261.89 (Official Build) Built on Debian , running on
Debian 12 (64-bit)

One of the reasons I gave up with Barclays Bank share dealing service.
"Update your browser"....

It worked on an ancient firefox in an XP virtual machine though.

There is I suspect something that uses javascript to interrogate the
operating system to find out what platform you are running that goes
something like this

switch (detected OS)
case Windersl...blah
case OSx...blah
case IOS...blah
case android ...blah
default, "update your browser" and fuck off.

And, since these days all websites are written using someone else's
toolset, and in javascript. the numpties who put it together have no
idea how to fix it anyway,.

Thanks to you both. I ended up updating from Buster
to Bookworm. Buster had Chromium 92 and the userAgent
spoof apparently wasn't fully working. (Netflix didn't complain
about it, but HBO did.)

Bookworm's v. 122 works fine. I hadn't thought of updating
Raspbian, so I guess HBO did me a favor. Bookworm seems to
be snappier than Buster on the same hardware... Microsoft
could learn something.

I noticed that Firefox in Bookworm now has the DRM option
in the settings. Widevine for ARM64 in Firefox at long last?
I haven't tested it.
