Another day, another dollar, except instead of a day, it's a week, and
instead of dollars, it's free games. So, I guess this is our "salary"
for our hard work of clicking on Epic's website?

Ooh, a threesome!

"Geneforge" excites me most, but only because I remember the franchise
from when it was this little independent project made by one guy in
his basement. Even back in 2001, it was noticeably behind the curve
when it came to its visuals and interface, but it was made with a lot
of heart and - while lacking greatly in polish - was still pretty fun.
This version - a remaster of that original 2001 game - ups the visuals
a bit but otherwise remains true to its original vision. I'm not sure
I'd enjoy it as much this time - my tastes have changed and I get less
enjoyment in time-sink CRPGs - but if you've the time and patience to
immerse yourself in an old-school isometric-view role-playing game,
you'll probably get a kick outta this one.

"Hood: Outlaws and Legends" is almost the opposite of Geneforge in
every way. It's a multiplayer-only third-person shooter, similar to
"Payday" albeit with a fantasy twist. Fast paced and with some
nice-looking visuals, its gameplay is lacking in balance and fun. As a
freebie its possibly worth taking a look at but there are probably
better ways to spend your time.

"Iratus" is a strategy/roguelike thingee... I dunno, it's hard to
describe. Think "Dungeons of Darkness", but less innovative and not
done quite as well. It's just not my cup of tea. It was made available
for free a few months ago on GOG, so you may already have a copy; if
not, here's your chance to try it yourself.

Three games, no waiting. Not the best games Epic has offered, but not
the worst the either, so I won't complain TOO much. You have seven
days to grab these before they go away. Tick-tock!

I never played one of Jeff Vogul's games but I really should. Thank

Played one of the other games by this guy (Avernum 1), and it was not
that much of a timesink. I guess the entire game took around 10-15 hours
to finish.
I highly can recommend the Spiderweb Software RPGs they are really fun
to play and he has been around forever with his games. Still a one man
show, however he somtimes hires externals for the tilesets etc...
