Have you heard of yet another Linux feature Microsoft wants to copy
into Windows--the “sudo” command?

Only, in typical Microsoft fashion, they write the code and publish it
first, and then they actually try to make it work.

Implementing "sudo" will definitely be less annoying than right-clicking
on the CMD icon and choosing "Run as administrator." In the end, it will
more or less be the same thing though since I imagine that running it,
the first time at least, will require you to click on that very secure
"OK" dialog.

Anyways, they already have the "winget" feature in their command prompt
so it was just a matter of time before they ended up with "sudo."

I have a Galaxy S21, it's still working like new, the iPhone is a
marvelous piece of gear in a way, but I don't like using them. DFS is
trying to sell us Microsoft and Apple corpware at the cost of the
relative software freedom of not only GNU/Linux, but even on a damn
phone, Android by any objective standard offers you more flexibility
than anything else on the market, but Apple keeps happily selling
people their product, who think their brand means something.

For many years. Wife gets a very good discount thru her employer.

Can't do without a smartphone. No way. texts, navigation, ______ near
me, web, pics, contacts, notes, notifications, stopwatch, alarms,
fast-food apps, etc.

Truly indispensable.

When I leave the house or car, I check for phone, wallet, keys, reading
glasses.

I have an iPhone. Selected it because of an issue with the home network (though
it became moot when we got an unlimited data plan).

It has been interesting to use it, and it's a very good phone.

However, the Apple silo is a bit confining. Can't easily create one's own
ringtone, for example.

Other (minor) issues:

- The heat; the case has turned distinctly brown near the Apple logo.
- The gorilla glass is somewhat insensitive to presses.
- Sometimes just picking up the phone will activate the damn
flashlight, or go to the home screen.

So the next phone, I'm back to Android. That's a ways away though.
