Hello.
I've been searching for a long time, but I haven't found a clear rule
for the appearance of files or folders on the "desktop" area (ubuntu 20
only). I can see all the files or folders on the desktop in the file
manager "Files" but I can only see some of them on the desktop space.
Thank you for your help.

There is a gnome shell extension that sorta restores the traditional
Desktop function. I chose to replace Nautilus with Nemo which also adds
it back and plus add more functionality the arrange icons by attribute
Name, Type, Dates, and more.
