Yep. THAT long to get a "kit" - Pi+Case/Fan.

Oh yea, why do they sell METAL cases that'd
mostly block the WiFi ???

Prices dropped a bit from December however.

Got the super-special 27W AI power supply pretty
quick ... but nothing to power with it !

Now ... do I power it with Bullseye, or Wormy ???

Might start by just moving the card in a P4 I've
been using for streaming content ... that, no
matter what, tends to hang at 1080p after just
30 minutes or so. Figure the P5 may have enough
extra oomph ...

(yes, I've gone nuts trying to adjust buffer
sizes and other stuff for Firefox - Chromium
performs a bit better actually, but only a bit)

Pi 5 needs Bookworm if using Pi OS, Bullseye won't work.

DID get the thing yesterday and, confirmed, BullsEye
won't work with it - you get a weird incompatibility
message if you try to use Bull. So, looks like we're
stuck with Wormy. 3rd-parties will port their distros
over of course, but I still think the RPos is likely
the "best tuned" to all the features on the board.

Did get to use the new dedicated fan connector (they
HID it with a little cover - had to read the text on
the board to find the thing).

Interesting quirk ... on the initial set up the wi-fi
connections did not show. Appeared at the first "real"
boot however. So, could not do "update during install"
but had to do it manually later.

It IS a snappier board than the Pi4 ... you can feel
the diff. Not a HUGE diff, but you can tell. Once
US prices drop a bit, I'll buy at least one more.
Been using a 4 as a security-cam server (with 'motion')
and it WILL handle six cams at 1-fps no problem ... but
I may add cams, or want to speed up to a slightly
higher frame rate).
