Hello all,

on 07/31/2023 the final version of SM 2.53.17 was made available on the
"FTP servers" (https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/seamonkey/releases/2.53.17/).
However, the homepage has not been adjusted yet, also the intere update
has not been released yet, although the update files needed for it were
also provided on 07/31/2023. At least the Windows version ran without
problems in the last days, even if the compatibility with various sites
will be significantly increased only with the upcoming 2.53.18 version.
But also with 2.53.17 some pages work now again more like e.g.
https://www.wetteronline.de/wetterradar.

Release notes need a few more tweaks otherwise the real deal already:

Not much changed over the beta. build fix and a minor security backport from 115.

One follow-up --

For those of us that run PrefBar and/or CookieKeeper -- is the issue
with nsIPrefBranch and nsIPrefBranch still there? If so, does that
require manual updating to those? Or is there somebody that has already
done it willing to post tweaks in a location that is downloadable?
