Is alt.comp.software.seamonkey archived somewhere in a manner allowing a
clickable link to an arbitrary message to be included in the body of a post?

I'm in the process of composing a question that needs references to
previous threads (primarily less than a year old).

Not AFAIK, google no longer add new usenet groups to google groups.

narkive hasn't added it, is Davide Cavion contactable, he might add it
for future archiving?

That a URL is turned into a clickable link is parsing by the newsreader
and then a feature of that newsreader. URLs aren't always parseable for
a lot of reasons, especially if there is a line break within the URL.
You can't delimit it successfully with < and > because quoting the URL
breaking across lines will break the URL adding the quote character.

My suggestion is just cite the Message-ID.

which can then be copied and pasted with the angle brackets into the
Howard Knight article lookup.

I generally have good results by having a URL being the only thing on a
post's line.

For SeaMonkey Navigator, the following syntax works:

news://news-server/message-id

but the message has to be present in that server, so if the server has
finite retention, it will only work until the message gets
cleared/removed.

For example:

news://news.neodome.net/HsmcnQvoV-E8pCj5nZ2dnZfqn_GdnZ2d@supernews.com

(If you use addresses that do not include Message-Ids, please mention
the Message-Ids along with the addresses. I suspect that way it will
become more future-proof, along with allowing others to search by
Message-Id directly.)
