I just got this from zypper dup:

---------------------------
Timeout exceeded when accessing 'http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/misc/
packman/suse/openSUSE_Tumbleweed/Essentials/x86_64/
libsox3-14.4.2-7.124.x86_64.rpm'.
Abort, retry, ignore? [a/r/i] (r):
---------------------------

Happens almost regularly with one file or another. This one only gets to
about 10%, never more. When it does, it usually lasts for days if not
weeks. Is there no bot randomly checking repo files for downloadbility
7/24?

There are 3 options, a/r/i all of which end in a bombed update.

- a_bort aborts
- r_etry repeats 'the problem'
- i_gnore leads to termination after downloads

I changed

http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/misc/packman/suse/openSUSE_Tumbleweed/

to

ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/misc/packman/suse/openSUSE_Tumbleweed/

and THAT fixed it
