YES, I MUST CONFESS, I LOVE WINDOWS 11.

I HAVE HAD LOT'S OF FUN WITH IT THE LAST FEW DAYS.

WINDOWS 11 FEELS VERY DISTINGUISHED.

I KNOW THE START OF IT WAS A BIT TROUBLESOME AND I HAD MY DOUBTS, BUT LET"S FACE IT, WINDOWS 7 DEFAULT SETTINGS WERE
ALSO PISS POOR.

ONCE WINDOWS 11 IS SETUP THE WAY I LIKE IT, I LOVE IT.

ALSO IT TOOK A BIT OF TIME TO GET USED TO THE NEW GUI,
BUT I AM STARTING TO LOVE/LIKE IT AND FIND MY WAY AROUND IT.
THOUGH PERHAPS THE SETTINGS AND START MENU COULD USE A LITTLE BIT MORE WORK AND MAKE SOME MORE THINGS ACCESSIBLE.

BUT FORTUNATELY THERE IS ALWAYS THE RIGHT BUTTON ON START TO GET TO THE REALLY IMPORTANT THINGS, THOUGH I STILL FEEL LIKE NOT EVERYTHING IS IN THERE.

My main objections to Windows 11 were and still are:

1. Windows defender/virus scanner is annoying takes to much CPU though by disabling it it seems ok now.

2. The FONTS are still very CRAPPY and still need more work, especially in EDGE. It's clear to me that somehow the font algorithms have problems.
Maybe the algorithms are rendered directly, computed from math and splines and instructions instead of taken the best possible image at low resolution..

3. The "show more options" in the right click pop-up menu is completely retarded but it can be disable so that it shows everything, this requires registry hacking fortunately there is a .reg file somewhere on the internet to do it for you.

4. The resizing of C drive is somewhat difficult because health partition gets in the way, this is where Ubuntu as ahead vs Windows 11 and Microsoft should take this criticism very seriously and work on this to make re-sizing C partition work much more user friendly instead of having to delete recovery partition and using cmd and using diskpart.

5. Also VM Workstation 15 is bloody amazing, especially once vmware tools are installed. It does have a problem, it does not delete files which were copied & pasted between virtual machines these get stored in a temp folder:
C:\Users\Skybuck\AppData\Local\Temp\vmware-Skybuck\VMwareDnD
Taking up precious space !

6. Anyway I have now re-size C to a healthy 80 GB parition to accommodate any windows 11 updates. I also miss a status bar below the windows explorer so that I can see how space is still free on the drive that I am on or something... right now I have to go back to my computer or something, this leads to unnecessary clicks, this could be better, maybe the status bar can be get back somehow, this is where windows 11 needs more work, more access to configuration options for the gui, these are missing or stuff something far far in far away land.

7. I also don't like the date and time screen on login... It's ok to let me now date and time, but I kinda hate having to click or swipe through it... just display it 5 seconds or something and get auto rid of it... or display it below or above the login screen.

Being using the host for a while... with low memory.

Windows 11 just blue screened.. NVRAM issue, related to drive power or something, probably not a too big issue, but yup there could be power related bugs in windows 11, suspend,resume, power off, power down, low power mode related ! ;)

Even in a virtual machine this happens ?! Clearly a bug in windows 11 itself... maybe in vmware... if it simulates power chips... I doubt it's in vmware... hihi,,, because of reports of others with struggling windows 11 buggies.

I am also noticing a very strange clicking issue, the mouse clicks do not go through sometimes.

This is very noticeable when running bandicam on the host.

Now bandicam was not running but there were still clicking issue inside the guest windows 11.

Yes this mouse has very shitty left button, probably dirt in it or something or a hair, to lazy to clean it and I don't want to wreck the sticky tape that is under it...

Having a bad left mouse is kinda dangerous when selecting items or trying to drag items, accidently drops or selects or movements or even code deletions can occur because of it.

However this problem seems a bit different, maybe it's in vmware mouse driver, maybe it's inside windows 11 mouse handling code, maybe windows 11 gets confused if the left mouse button is pressed at irregular times, or maybe it's logic becomes confused if cpu is slow and busy doing other things.

Don't know yet... could also be repeated switching between guest and gost.

I also tried unimode today, that was kinda cool, it draws the application inside of the vm on the desktop... however this weird exit screen appears inside the guest so cannot use anything else ? Maybe have to open up multiple apps first and then enter unimode ?

Also copy & paste works when vmware installed, however beware to delete the files in the temp folder of vmware local and so forth..

Rebooting the operating system/guest windows 11 should solve the clicking issue.

Another thing I noticed is VMWare Workstation 15 probably can't handle Delphi's Debugger or Windows 11 can't handle Delphi's Debugger.

Whenever a multi-threaded application is broken into, Delphi 10.4 freezes ?!

Weird.

This could be a very serious limitation of VMWare Workstation 15 or a strange bug in Windows 11 and/or Delphi 10.4.

Will have to try debugging this on "real hardware" ! ;)

To be exact, "pausing" the multi-threaded application inside Delphi, inside Windows 11, inside VMWare Workstation does not seem to work and hangs delphi and the application.

Another possibility could be that the thread objects are interception exceptions with an exception handle, perhaps this is causing the freezing.

Delphi's manual mentioned an exception is thread when an application is paused.

Perhaps this thread object exception handling is interferring with this mechanic.

An exception stops the application, I don't think the debugger throws an exception... hmmm..
