Are there particular SeaMonkey preferences required?
Two days ago I had no problem contacting a particular server and
channel. Today I couldn't on this machine. On a different machine with
all defaults I had no problem.

Is there some way to force ChatZilla to ask if I want to save a copy of
the session before closing ChatZilla?
Today I forgot to save some important content :{

Re: Q2, I don't think so, Richard, at least not directly, but some IRC
channels are copied to web-pages, so you could re-read them there.

(I've not used ChatZilla a lot in recent years; I hope I've got this
right, but if somebody spots a mistake, please point it out!)

To store the conversation text:

If you haven't checked it yet, go to the "Global" tab in
ChatZilla->Preferences (this in the ChatZilla menu bar) and scroll down
to "Log these view types". Check the ones you want to log by default.

To log *everything*, you may also have to select "Global Settings" in
the left side list, go to the "General" tab and check the "Log this
view" checkbox under "Logging" to log the "*client*" tab too.
