I don't like all her music. But I like a few choice favorites that
when I play them for my friends, they remember the tunes from way back.

I didn't know before. Maybe I heard it when I was a child but didn't
remember. What I don't like? The lack of originality. I've heard dozens
of uninteresting bands like that. Unlike some other kind of music I
really can't stand, I could hear it in the background without issue. But
surely I won't try to know more about it and I'll never put it myself
when I can choose something I prefer.

Nope. It's much more that just an issue of "taste."

This music represents counterculture and independence
from the mainstream bullshit. Indeed, this music has
always been labeled "Indie" or "New Music" and is a reaction
to the insipid commercial pop garbage.

Also, people who partake of this music form their own social
group with its distinctive clothing and hairstyles. They
know who they are and everyone outside of the group is
perceived as an enemy infidel.

There is an infidel in this group and that is the DuFuS
Supremus. This jackass, with his Eagles and B-52s (OMG!),
is obviously totally conventional and socially conforming.
He definitely lacks any sort of independent perception
or creativity.

The DuFuS is the enemy infidel. He should be despised,
reviled, and castigated at every opportunity.

There is one band that I hate, with a burning intensity,
beyond all others and that band is "Huey Lewis and the News."
That sickening name alone is enough to send me into a fit
of shrieking and vomiting.

But one can bet one's bottom dollar that "Huey" is close
to the top on the DuFuS Supremus's list.

His, the DuFuS's, signature tune has got to be "Hip to
be Square." One can imagine that disgusting blob of
conventionality tapping his toes to those pathetically
insipid strains.

I am too sick to laugh.

The DuFuS Supremus is the perfect rectangle (square).
That's why everyone hates his fucking guts and that's
why he advocates Microslop Winblows.

me.

Ok, I said that assuming you are a general listener of music, but I just
noticed what you said about that "sax solo" on the youtube live
performance. You wouldn't know that if you didn't have some sort of
background in music.

If you in fact have had a background in music, then the above
description of your life is not correct, cause my personal experience is
that those who either play some instrument or especially have academic
or live performance background in music often hear or sense and conceive
stuff, even from familiar music around, that those without such
background do not, and cannot.

Now the question is, do you have any background in music? Does anybody
here know whether DFS has some sort of background in music?

Hadn't heard of them until today.

Found a few tracks; did a quick listen to "Spellbound" and "Cities in the Dust".
Nice voice, instrumentals, but guess I'm not in the mood today to listen to lyrics.

Of course, there's been a lot of stuff that I didn't grok then (nor today, for that matter),
such as Punk via the Sex Pistols or XeX.

But I have found influences probably from my older siblings, so in addition to my own Pop
teen/YA stuff like Elton John & Billy Joel, I've had a growing list of earlier stuff and not just
the Beatles & Beach Boys, but also the Animals, Byrds, Cream, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Doors,
Deep Purple, James Taylor, Janice Joplin, Led Zeppelin, Moody Blues, etc: in doing a quick
look at what I have in iTunes, there's nearly 200 Artists across 40 Genres....

Isn't "Paint By Numbers" a separate Microsoft app from Microsoft Access?
Could one make a living by using MS Access alone? I didn't know that.

With Excel, maybe, cause it can incorporate whatever else in life you've
learned. But Access is just an organizing tool, no? I don't know Access
so I have no clue indeed. Could be that it has features requiring the
user to have some other skills as well.

What did he study in Georgia State?

I turned two in 1979, so I have little memory of the decade, but I
love a lot of the '70s music. Couple years ago I bought Rick James'
first album as MP3s, it was amazing, he appreciated me 40+ years in

It's a little more subtle than to talk about my GF having a dick,
dude, I mean I've heard countless things like that from recording
artists. You know Pink Floyd's "Pigs (Three Different Ones)"? * When
he says "whew!", early in the song, I can tell you exactly what he was
reacting to, it was from 2018, and I had consumed the equivalent of
Sprite that day (i.e. LSD, Roger Waters' drug of choice, and talked
about in the song), having at the time done a recent illicit LSD trip,
and I felt the connection to 1976 or '77 when they recorded it, much
like in 2011 listening to a live recording of Rush from the early
1980s, when I was on DXM, I time warped to be at that concert
mentally.

along a new exciting path, and get to that goal. You can become a
doctor. You can become a businessman. You can become an excellent top
programmer. You can become anything you want, starting from zero. Cause
it only takes time. And you have that time.
