Folks, one of my many delusions has been Ethernet over SCSI, trying to
beat Fast Ethernet out of the Corvette.

Many moons ago, Lorenzo sendt me a Microtest DiscPort, a neat-o little
box that has a 10Mbit BNC / RJ45 port that disgronifies the phlogistron
and outputs SCSI-1 over a DB25F port [sigh]. It is sordid like NAS, but
in the mid to late 90s.

Reminds me of a solution looking for a problem [to MY needs, that is].
It gets SCSI over Ethernet, but now you need an external SCSI device to
actually USE it. But... can we switch hit and transmit Ethernet [TCP/IP]
over SCSI?

Not much documentation. Later versions did NT.

Is there some bi-curiosity about seeing feelthy-feely pictures of the
lone PCB?

SCSI-2 (and above) defines a "Communications Device" class:
https://www.staff.uni-mainz.de/tacke/scsi/SCSI2-18.html

All you'd need would be an SBC with onboard SCSI-2 and Fast Ethernet and related firmware/OS and drivers.
However, that's not a "simple" project.

The DiscPort XL [IIRC] has HPDB50 ports, might be SCSI-2.

Looking for a SIMMple device. The abortive NetVista 8364 projekt crashed
and burnt [possible board-level failure]. Some sordid internet device...
