Anyone else here using News,Individual.Net?

I am finding connecting to it very slow (up to a minute) recently.
Once I am connected, messages download fine, it's just the initial
connection that is slow.

It seems to be just a NIN issue, connection to Eternal September is
almost instantaneous.

It seems to be a Martin Harran issue since I also haven't experienced
any problems with NIN (not for years actually).

In windows open a CMD window then type 'tracert news.individual.net' to
see where the hang up is.

] I figured it out. For some reason, 'Server requires Secure Connection'
option became deselected so Agent was using port 119. Secured using
port 563 is much faster though I don't know why 119 was so slow.

Perhaps Agent was (silently) timing out on port 119 and then trying
port 563. Or something like that.
