As well as having Agent 8 on this desktop, which works like god in a
mysterious way, I have to keep opening and closing it, I also keep a
copy on my laptop so that if I am taken to hospital I will take it
along with me and it will help pass time!

However, now it doesn't work at all on the laptop and came up with a
message Crash Dump (build 1272.012696de) and that I should send it to
them. I did but have heard nothing and the message says after ten
days it will delete the Crash Dump files. It is nearly to the ten
days.

I have not a clue what is wrong, or what a Crash Dump is, can anyone
tell me an easy solution. Perhaps removing Agent 8 from the laptop
and re=installing but maybe that would make it worse?

Most times, crashes are caused by a problem with the *data* in your
Agent data folder.

You are welcome to *try* uninstalling and re-installing the *program*.
But uninstalling and re-installing is unlikely to fix a crash when
there is a problem with the *data* and the data remains.

The easiest thing to try may be to delete all the data in your
Agent data folder. (This will lose all your settings. You will need'
to re-enter your settings.)

1) You will need to know where your Agent data folder is.
1.1 Select any folder in Agent's folders pane
1.2 Go to "Folder >> Properties >> Name and Scheme
1.3 Look at the bottom of the panel to find the location
of the folder database files.

2) Your Agent data folder should not be inside the "Program Files"
or "Program Files (x86)" folders. If it is, delete the entire
folder as well as the data in it. And do not put it back there.

About the crash dump.

A. The Agent help file will tell you what a crash dump is.
See: Help >> Index >> Crash Dump dialog

B. Do not worry about the crash dump. It is not the cause of the
problem.

C. You wrote that you sent the crash dump but have heard nothing.
I tested sending a crash dump today. I got a reply within minutes like
the one below.
If you did not receive an email reply within minutes like the one below
then there is something amiss with one of these:
* Your 'From' address in the crash dump email you sent;
* Your email account for that 'From' address, where the reply would
have been sent to.
