ITYM Sylpheed link-clicking opens in Vivaldi.

I looked at a Sylpheed. It does not have a/ its own/ setting for
browser choice so it should use the browser choice of your system.

In Mint Cinnamon, the system's preferred browser is in the system
settings/ preferences/ preferred applications - web

Well, it turned out most of the other suggested solutions were close but either wrong or incomplete.

This one:

Configuration/common preferance/details/web browser/Firefox '%s'

Actually worked. When you get to the <Firefox '%s'> you will find a dropdown arrow.
Click that and and a list of alternatives drops down.

I wasn't able to interpret that instruction.

I didn't recognize where the strings and slashes were supposed to be 'seen'.

Huh. When I looked in sylpheed before I didn't see that.

The/My sylpheed default says 'defaultbrowser' (no quotes) '%s' (with
quotes).

On the live system I viewed sylpheed, its 'default' browser wasn't set,
according to opening the Light browser the first time, which I didn't
set to be default.

When I used sylpheed to click a link, it fetched the iink w/ the Light
browser, which again asked if I wanted to set it as the default.

In that system's default applications chooser, it /does/ have light
shown as the default browser.

I guess my point of confusion is;
-1- it seems that the system's default browser is one thing
-2- the browser's 'idea' of whether it is the default browser is yet
another thing and
-3- I think sylpheed would go with the system's configuration of
default browser *UNLESS* it were configured to use a browser different
from the system's.
