The [printonlyused] option of the acronym package supresses items that
were not used in the text. Unfortunately, it supresses only the short
and long form, not the explanation. Minimal example:

\documentclass{scrartcl}

\usepackage[printonlyused]{acronym}
\usepackage{hyperref}

\begin{document}

The \acsu{16PF} measures personality factors, \acsu{COMP} measures
student's performance.

\begin{acronym}
\acro{16PF}{16 personality factors}, psychometric test
\acro{COMP}{NBME comprehensive shelf exam}, tests readiness for
licensing exam
\acro{GPA}{grade point average}, summary of student's performance at
college
\end{acronym}

\end{document}

The "summary of student's performance at college" now appears directly
behind "licensing exam", which is nonsense.

I suggest:

\acro{GPA}{grade point average\acroextra{, summary of student's
performance at college}}

Yes, that works, thank you.
