I didn´t got my M-ACPA card work in my 77 so I´m looking for this David´s new SB clone. Has somebody here bought it and tested how it works? Like to hear if it is good for MCA PS/2. The price $125 + $15 for shipping from Sweden to Finland is resonable. And there is also coming a ChipChat reloaded sound card from Christian in Germany and it sounds also fine.

Do you still need the M-ACPA? I am interested in one to play around with.

If I can´t make it work in my 77 then will I purchase David´s or Christians new sound gard. Like to hear some experience for both gards.
I paid 250 € + shipping for my M-ACPA so I should have to make it work in my 77 with Win95.

I got the M-ACPA to work under Windows 98 twice but both times it would blue screen on any future hardware plug and play scans.

I've run the Tex Elect clone SB card. Works in 95 fine. But like MCA sound cards even in SB mode games don't like um that much.

The Ultimedia card 7-6 works great in NT 4

I also own a Sound Piper 16 which is a nice card. But like MCA sound cards even in SB mode games don't like um that much.

I have one extra Ultimedia and a couple of M-ACPA cards if anyone needs one.

Does this Ultimedia 7-6 card work in my 77 with Win 95 or 98? Or must it have NT4 installed?
I have an original NT4 and can install it to my 77.

Ultimedia 7-6 cards have a NT driver that I created back in 2003. I've tried to create for 95/98 but could not get the machine debug up and running.

Some Ultimedia cards can hang some machines at start up. No guaranties.

I'm quite sure that all of the problems with all of the vintage sound cards are bus speed related.

I have used many pc's. and laptops to interface nc and cnc machine tool's ( both using a serial and parallel port) ( rtl to ttl etc..chips on nc machines)) computers. to communicate with machine tools.
Timing is every thing... New stuff (computers) are way way to fast to deal with old stuff, baud transfer rates were trick back then... we used to use assembly language
subroutines ( In dos.) ,,to match baud rate transfers to deal with delays in speed. Maybe a bus speed slowdown emulator..program , may help

even when using a parallel port we used to use a ready to send strobe,,, line on a bidirectional port,, older parallel cables would not work

borland turbo basic ,, was the trick,,, You could control everything in a dos program..and it had a compiler that could fit it all on a floppy diskettes.

Has somebody here got David´s SoundBlaster v.2.0 clone card?
I bought it some time ago and tried to install it to my 77 with Win95.
I configured it with adf- file and it seems to be OK but win95 with "add new hardware" didn´t recognise it at all.
I tried also add it as Sound Blaster Pro but my 77 hangs at reboot so I have to remove this SB.
I use active external speakers with power and volume control to have sound to my 77 but it fails.
Should I remove my external speakers and try to get sound with 77´s internal speaker?
Has someone installed this card to 77 with win95 and how it went?
