The last time I tried to reduce my cost for Comcast was terrible.
I was trying to increase my Internet speed at time from 200 mbps to
600 mbps, but since then Comcast has increased my Internet speed to
300 mbps which is all I really need but I would like a better upload
speed than the 10 mbps I currently get.

The rep kept telling me I had an old modem on my account and she could
not change my account until it was removed. I own all my own
equipment, modem, router and Tivos.

I finally got to a point for an agreed upon amount and we got
disconnected. I had to start all over with a different rep and finally
gave it.

At this point there is no other real option for high speed internet in
my neighbor except for Comcast so it is hard to claim I am going to
cancel. I cannot even get any of the T-Mobile or Verizon home 5G plans
since none work in my neighborhood.

My current complete bill for 300 mbps Internet Fast and TV: Ultimate
TV and 2 cable cards for my Tivos is $208 a month, this includes all
taxes and extra fees. I have no Prem channels, I own my own modem,
routers and 2 Tivos so I don't rent any of Comcast/Xfinity equipment.

From talking with friends this seems reasonable since many fiends
Comcast bills are around $300, but they all rent all their equipment
which I think adds a lot to their cost.

I am getting the $40 a month discount for having 3 products even
though I never use the VOIP. My modem does not even support VOIP and I
use Ooma for my VOIP.

I have searched for current deals and most of the prices I find are
for new customers only. I get Xfinity emails offering me options to
increase my Internet speed but none of the links will take me to an
actual site to make a change or will quote me a price.

Anyone recently had good luck getting a reduced rate without a lot of
trouble and kickback. I have read that the Reps are harder to deal
with than they use to be.

I haven't had to deal with them for a while, like last Sept. When I did, it was just to renew, and they were going to
charge just slightly more, but I did get 20M upload and 300 down in the deal. Speed tests show 320/25 now. I guess
for a few bucks that's not bad.

Tell us the model and we can look up its capabilities. If you've owned
it before 2014, it won't be DOCSIS 3.1. There's a DOCSIS 3.1 newer
variation called "full spectrum" or 4.0 since 2017 but I haven't heard
Comcast deploying it.

I'd be shocked if the rep wasn't giving you a hard time just because.

Not terrible

Please note that Comcast Digital Voice is digital but not VoIP. It uses
reserved channels and doesn't share channels with Internet. Ask for a
terminal adapter so you can use Comcast Digital Voice. There's no
equipment rental fee and Internet channels are disabled as you use your
own equipment for Internet.

The deals are available for existing subscribers too. You just have to
find a representative willing to put the codes on your account.

I have on occassion negotiated to get the bill reduced. It's a huge
hassle.

I have a Netgear CM1000 which is DOCSIS 3.1.
It has works perfect and I get 350 mbps downloads on Speedtest.net.
never have to reboot it or anything.

My network is 1gb, running 3 TP links routers, model AC1750, 2 as
access points, and 3 - 8 port switches. Everything that can be hard
wired is wired. Running 2 Tivos on Comcast, 1 Tivo OTA, 3 desktop
computers, a couple of laptops both are wireless most of the time,
expect when getting MS updates. All get the full 350 mbps when I run
speedtest. I also have 4 Wyze security cameras and all stay connected
all the time, no dropouts so a good Wifi signal even outside the
house. I have good 5Ghz WiFi from my routers throughout the house,
even my Samsung tablets and 2 LG phones connect all the time to my
Wifi 5ghz and get the full 350 mbps that Comcast provides.

I guess since everything is running so smooth, is it worth the effort
to try and increase my Internet speed? I have read about some the
problems people run into trying to get the full 1GB speed that Comcast
offers plus the extra cost. I am currently paying $89 for my Internet
Fast service which is their quoted rate on their price chart. If I
read their price chart correctly, to jump to 600 mbps would be $109
and 1gb would be $119.

I do run Plex Plus Server and have two family members that I allow
access to the server from outside of my house, but they seldom use it.
I limit their download speed since I only get 12 mbps upload speed per
Speedtest and neither one can tell the difference in picture quality
while streaming from my server.

Thanks for the full description. Someone more knowledgeable will advise.

I will have to renegotiate at the end of the year and from experience a
year and a half ago found it to be more of a hassle. I suspect part was
related to the pandemic where more were staying home using more internet
and TV viewing.

Found it interesting that a friend switched to FIOS to save but found in
a few months, the way it was structured, he is paying just as much as
when he had Comcast.

Biden has the price of gas through the roof. Comcast has a fleet of
service trucks that prolly don't get great MPG. Biden doubled Comcast's
gas bill. Don't expect Brian Roberts to make up the difference.

Until We the People vote Resident Cabbagehead out of the White House,
don't expect the situation to improve.

Stolen elections have consequences.

I agree but that percentage for fuel is probably small. Like a rising
tide floats all boats, so does inflation and that is Biden's fault.
