Public Electronic Networked Information System. You still need an 80
column terminal for the full experience, but it can get my old Atari
8bit, Commodore 64, Apple //c, and Amiga 1200 on Usenet (typing this
through it now), Gopher, IRC, and whatever else we might imagine in the
future.
