Good afternoon,
If You are planning using new hardware, You can do the following.
Run installation DVD of any Linux, after Linux boots OK open terminal.
Then run the command

lspci -vvn
or

lspci -vvn > lspci.out

And send the ouput of the command to me. I will be able to estimate if there is the chance that Coherent boots. I suggest to look for hardware with Xeon or P4.
I mean with ICH chipset.
