Hi All,

iPhone

On some versions of iPhone m3u8 works. On others it does not. How do
I tell Safari and Chrome to play the m3u8's on jwplayer?

Note: the feed only works during office hours (Pacific Time):
Monday – Friday 7am to 6pm
Sunday & Saturday 8am to 5pm

List of tested iPhones:
1) iPad air (v1) running ios12.5.5 works fine
2) iPhone 5S running ios12.5.5 works fine
3) iPhone SE (v1) running ios 15.2 does not work
4) iPhone SE (2020) running ios 15.2 does not work
5) iMac mini running 10.13.6 works fine (safari 13.1.5)

Are you sure about those quotes?

file: "URL" is the sample code I've seen.

The cameras do not display on macOS 12.0.1 with Safari 15.1m though the
static badge in the upper corner does show.

My guess is that jwplayer is doing something that looks like a
subversion of Safari's settings to prevent autoplay, but that is only a
guess.

I gather that jwplayer's reputation is not generally positive.

I also ran it through https://validator.w3.org/check. It passed. Well
that section passed.

The static badges come from jwplayer I presume?

That is my impression too. You can't get their stuff to
play on Linux and Windows if you have "hardware acceleration"
enabled either.
I wonder if this is the same jwplayer?

That does not validate JavaScript code, it validates HTML.

Any Javascript validator or it just won't compile?

I heard back from a web design I throw a bunch
of business off to. He does not think much
of JWScript.
