Tools/ Settings/ General/ Config Editor, bottom of page right hand side.
Show All, and be very careful with your editing.

In 115 they put "font size" on the menu. Could try that, but it might mess other things.

Perhaps the OP has Layout/ Vertical View where the threads are in the
middle, but "hard to make out".
If so, I suggest changing to Classic View.
However, TB's tweakability is extensive; a gift for adventurous users
(who can experiment, choose, and select their favourite) but very
daunting for many.

True, the font tweak fixes one place (message header list pane) but messes up my calendar list.
(doesn't fit the window, have to scroll). So you can't win, fix one the other messes up. It comes
down to the one that you use the most. :-)
