FF version 124 was installed along with a recent new Linux Mint install.
It's now at 124.0.2. My old userChrome.css no longer works to put tabs
below the address bar. I can't remember if any code was proposed here
some time ago which might work with v124. Can anyone point me to code
which works?

It is possible the the legacy setting in the Config file was turned off
with the recent update.

I don't have 124. I've been installing ESRs and doing it
conservatively. But for comparison, here's what I have
for that config:

:root {
--tab-min-height_tnot: 32px;
--tab_below_navigation_toolbar_bottom_padding: calc(
var(--tab-min-height_tnot) + 5px ); }

#TabsToolbar {
position: absolute;
display: block;
bottom: 0;
width: 100vw;
background-clip: padding-box;
color: var(--toolbar-color);
z-index: 2;
}

#navigator-toolbox {
position: relative;
padding-bottom: var(--tab_below_navigation_toolbar_bottom_padding);
}

Thanks - that was it. However, the tab used to "extend" into the page,
so it was obvious which tab related to the page. In the (default?)
theme, the active tab is the same colour as all the others. It is now
only distinguished from the others by a faint grey round-cornered
rectangle which is just inside the borders of the tab.

FWIW, I already had almost all the text in Newyana2's post in my
userChrome.css file. Looks like I'll have to have a play and either
change the theme as a whole or just the tab colour and border by
modifying the userChrome.css file.

Even better: Seems more direct, at least the top rows with
-moz-box-ordinal-group
entries.

I'm more than a little confused! That's the same link in both posts. Was
there supposed to be a different link in your reply to your own post?

Unfortunately, I do find github rather unhelpful at times. Just what is
supposed to be done with that /tabs_on_bottom.css file (or
IE6/chrome/hacks/tabs_on_bottom.css if the full path is copied). Does it
have to be copied into userChrome.css? Or should it just be renamed
userChrome.css and copied to the /chrome folder as the only
userChrome.css file?

Sometimes the README.md file helps. In this case it redirects to another
github webpage at
<https://github.com/soup-bowl/Modoki-Firefox/blob/main/README.md>, which
seems to be a way of getting an old theme working in the new version of FF.

Sorry about the double link. I bounce around and get from point A to B to C, 3 different ways and
think C is different. Disregard.

I myself have given up on the movement of toolbars in FF. I might in Thunderbird.snippets don't
