Eternal-september seems to cleans "this" up fairly well.

Is there a mailing list mirrored both ways into the gnu.emacs.help
newsgroup? The source of all of "this" could just be posts to
googlegroups without the need for a subscription.

Had to browse the newsgroup groups.google.com to see what "this" is.
It is happening mostly through googlegroups, be it newsgroups, be it
mailing lists hosted there.
