Does anyone know how I can put the reading pane in the middle while
using the vertical layout?

I'm using Thunderbird 115.6.0 on Ubuntu 23.10.

I dson't use the vertical layout, so I've never looked at the structure
of the layout in developer toolbox, but I'd be surprised if the order of
the panes couldn't be altered using some "order: n" tweaks in
userChrome.css for suitable values of n.
