Thunderbird 115.6.0 won't even try communicating with the server before
giving me this error:

"Send Message Error"

"Sending of the message failed."

I can send any other message, but not the one I want to send.

I can't even save the post to Drafts:

"Save Draft Error"

"Unable to save your message as a draft."
"Sending of the message failed."

What the hell is going on here?

In case anyone is curious, the errors occur when attempting to post
a followup to the thread beginning with message ID:

I've tried everything, tried multiple servers, but STILL can't post
in this ONE thread.

Somebody deserves to be shot dead for this.

Apparently, it's crossposting that got broken somehow. Thunderbird
refuses to send anything crossposted to more than one group. This
started last night, and it certainly isn't the servers.

Where the Newsgroups in your proposed message are listed, do this:

newsgroup: alt.comp.software.thunderbird
newsgroup: alt.comp.software.firefox

Change this to (add servername in front of the newsgroup name):

newsgroup: news.mixmin.net/alt.comp.software.thunderbird
newsgroup: news.mixmin.net/alt.comp.software.firefox

When the message is sent, the software removes the server name
and the message looks like this when people receive it.

Newsgroups: alt.comp.software.thunderbird, alt.comp.software.firefox

That's a bug in Thunderbird, since the Netscape era. Adding
the servername is the workaround.

Thanks for the info. I ended up creating a new profile, and that seems
to have worked for now.
