I have a long email conversation that I'd like to download as various
text files (not .eml). Is that possible to do that in a batch, instead
of exporting every single email?

..eml files /are/ text files. You can rename them .txt if you prefer.

You can select several emails - perhaps after searching for subject - and
do 'Save as'.

For much of the software that I've used, I absolutely agree.

However I have used some software, probably Outlook, that used a very
similar, if not the same, extension for a binary storage of an email.

It's been too long and / or I've not had enough morning caffeine to
remember the other extension if it's not the same.

That would be Outlook .msg files.
