A friend asked:
Why did Windows7pro now (two weeks ago) succeed in updating this
KB4534310 ? It has failed multiple times since jan.2020.

And yes, the pre-requisites (KB4490628, KB4474419 and KB4536952) had all
been installed/updated before trying. Other updates had succeeded after
that.

Machine is a HP ProBook 470 from 2013, 1TB HDD failed and replaced in 2016
No changes has been made to the machine except for installing a
500GB SDD instead of the 1TB HDD about three months ago

(No, he doesn't have a ESU license)

And no, I don't have access to that computer very often, so don't ask me
to check this or that.....

It's a commentary on Microsoft's quality control that an update that
_succeeds_ is looked on as an unusual event that needs an
explanation.

Sorry, I thought he had done other updates after that..
He had only done some .NET update and the MRT
