M/T 8525: DISKETTE DRIVE SHIELD

PHYSICAL CHECK: Any 8525 with a color display.

DETAIL: Magnetic interference, generated by the 8525 color monitor,
can create diskette read errors on the "A" drive. Drive "B" and
monochrome 8525 systems are not affected. If a color model 8525 is
exhibiting diskette read errors during normal use, but the diskette
drive does not fail when tested with the starter diskette or advanced
diagnostics, a metal shield (FRU P/N33F4904) should be installed on
drive "A." This shield must be attached directly to the diskette drive,
covering the top and both sides of the drive. The shield, attaching
screws, and installation instructions are available by ordering FRU
P/N33F4904. Only the shield and its installation are covered by this ECA.
