"Q: Why is there no Betterbird 115.4.3 release?
A: All the fixes Thunderbird are shipping in 115.4.3 are already
included in Betterbird 115.4.2-bb17. The next version 115.5.0-bb18 will
be released on 21 November 2023, so there is absolutely no need to
follow the Thunderbird release frenzy."

Nice one! But how does that come about?
How is Betterbird ahead of Tbird?
Not that I'm complaining; far from it. It's simple curiosity. It argues
something more than a tactical agreement.

The folks at Betterbird apply fixes faster than those at Firefox, it's
as simple as that.

The "head" of the Betterbird-Project is a former contributor of Thunderbird.
He was kicked out because of "differences in his social behavior".
So he started his own Betterbird-Project as a fork of Thunderbird and
implements some bugfixes and changes.
If you understand German, look in de.comm.software.mozilla.mailnews for
Jörg Knobloch.
