Did the 8525 shaped system board come in a non "all-in-one" system? The
8525 would be an interesting little box if it used an external monitor...

It was just a cost reduced mod 30 8086.
IBM did use that mod 30 board in a cash register that Wendy's used.

I know you are still counting this as an "All-in-One", but it is still cool: https://vintagecomputer.ca/ibm-7690-nursing-station-yup-its-a-ps2/

Correct, the Model 25 lacks the RTC of the Model 30 (although I wish someone would replicate the 7690 riser) - which doesn't matter for an ICLAS to get the system time while RIPLing over the network.

I'm way late to the party (don't get here often any longer, and have only
the one computer still even set up to do the Usenet thing...)...yes. The
Model 30-286 and the 25-286 use exactly the same planer.

Well, that's fine - because I get to correct myself:

> ...the Model 25 lacks the RTC of the Model 30...

The 8086-based Model 25 actually has the BIOS code to run an RTC (of the chip type and address that is on the 8086-based Model 30)...
