Hey there,
just stumpled across this one: http://bitsavers.org/magazines/Mini-Micro_Systems/198803.pdf Page 12 - following. I'm wondering, if they ever built some machines around this C&T Chipset :O
Regards,
Stefan

Reply Model 32:
https://ardent-tool.com/Reply/Model_32.html

Model 70 Reply planar:
https://ardent-tool.com/Reply/OEM_70.html

Possibly the CompuStar beast (in some configurations):
https://www.ardent-tool.com/CompuStar/CompuStar.html

And probably some other...

I imagine that many of the "no-name" MCA clones were based on this
chipset as well (or one of its brothers). But most of these machines
were either just a "paper launch" or actually shipped but are long lost
in the sands of time.

I'm aware, Stefan, believe me. I've seen a nude virgin riding a unicorn.
Twice. But only one Reply board so far...

The Mini-Micro Systems article is in our stash now:
https://ardent-tool.com/docs/articles.html#MM_Systems
Thanks for posting this!

P.S. Anyone needs a unicorn?

Second, Chips has added four programmable decoders that let OEMs avoid
adding discrete logic devices to control such things as panel lights,
password control and networking support.

Third,
the article had a massive complex about compatibility (the part they stated, you could easily place original IBM ROMs instead of the C&T ones) - now i'm curious what happens here with the bull micral - maybe Headland had the same intention as C&T? From your perspective - what's the closest match to a PS/2? I'll test the Model 70 (non cpu-daughterboard, non cache variant) ROMs first - and of course i use parts that are at least electrically compatible :)
Regards,
Stefan
