The echomail autocreate areas in 8.3 format is very rare. Works fine around
some time and suddenly Mystic stop creating them with short names and
autocreate them with long names. Very strange.

I can't see any place in the code that would cause this. Do you have a log or
an actual example of a name of a base where this happened? Maybe I can try to
recreate it here using the same name.
