Got a stand-alone Canon imageCLASS MF216n connected by USB cable to an
iMac running MacOS Monterey 12.0.1. No other connections.

Lately, the printer has started to occasionally wake up out of sleep
mode for no reason while I'm using the computer-- but have not issued
any print commands.

Ideas to get it to quit doing this?

Look in the manual. It's probably a self cleaning cycle.

Thanks. I didn't see anything in the manual-- and this is new behavior
in a printer that's been in light use a few years.
