Some web sites resize the vertical scroll bar to a scrawnier width. This
makes it harder (for me, at least) to 'grab' with the mouse pointer. Here's
a screencap illustration: https://ibb.co/hfk3pcG . Is there an easy way
to prevent this? Perhaps using something in about:config or
userchrome.css?

Pick me, too. I also, on occasion, have problems grabbing the
grippy-thingee!!

Try CSS:

scrollbar scrollbarbutton {
min-width: 16px !important;
}

Replace 16px by your preferred width. I expect that the scrollbar should
expand to contain the enlarged (if it is) button.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, no results. Tried changing the
syntax slightly to match some other entries, but it's been 15 years or so
since I mucked around with this stuff, and the memory grows dim....
