Hi All,

firefox-119.0-1.fc38.x86_64 (the fc means Fedora Code 38 [Linux])

I tried installing

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/uaswitcher/?utm_source=addons.mozilla.org&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=search

But I can not find the icon to operate it. Nothing in tools either.

Am I missing something?

If you're not seeing the control in the list of extension icons next to
the address bar, see if it turns up in the overflow list (the icon that
looks like a jigsaw puzzle).

If you're still not finding anything, you might want to try a different
extension for spoofing UAs. A check for "user agent" shows a number
with similar names.

I haven't done a lot with UA switching in Firefox, but when I was
checking, the one I liked was User Agent Masquerade

What did you do that turned every single one of his spaces into a
non-breaking space? Please don't do that. Non-breaking space characters
absolutely do not belong in plain text, and probably not on the Web
except in very specific circumstances. It's needed in typesetting only.

Mine rendered pretty. Not sure why yours came out that way.

You are likely using an newsgroup reader/editor which uses the UTF-8
characterset. Most email/newsgroup readers use straight (extended) ASCII.

I see the hard spaces too, displayed as a uppercase "A" with a circle above
it. (ALT 0197 (default windows charset) or ALT 143 (ASCII) in notepad or on
the commandline).

something. The quote colors add-on shows it off real bad.

You posted with ASCII space characters. worldoff9908@gmail.com quoted
your text but substituted non-breaking space characters for ASCII space
characters. One must NEVER use non-breaking space characters in plain
text. They are special-purpose typographic characters and weren't
intended to be used in lieu of non-breaking space characters in Mail and
News. They don't belong on the Web either except under very special
circumstances.

I don't send format=flowed because it's pointless, given how poorly it's
been implemented on certain clients. Also, I dislike the need to use an
interstitial space between the characters indicating quote level and the
start of the quote, which is required by format=flowed.

Your own use of format=flowed sucks because you are sending 122 character
lines, which is outrageous. There's no reason not to set a reasonable
line length of between 72 and 78 characters.

Also, I specifically didn't add the required character set declaration
in a MIME header because I was making a point about how very evil
substituting non-breaking space characters for ASCII spaces was.
