Attention all Gentoo Men!

Gentoo is moving to a new profile, 23.0, and I just switched to it
this morning.

The issue is the 23.0 now makes "-fstack-clash-protection" the default
for GCC as well as "cet" for the entire build/debug chain and GLIBC.

Why the change?

Those fucking bastards want to make Gentoo more compatible with the
mainstream distros. All the common junk distros have already incorporated
this security garbage.

Listen, motherfuckers. We are MEN. REAL FUCKING MEN. We don't need
no distro nanny making things "secure" for us. We make our own fucking
decisions. Got that, cocksuckers?

But fuck the profile. Just edit your "package.use.force" to override
those ridiculous default settings:

sys-devel/gcc -cet -default-stack-clash-protection -default-znow -hardened -libssp nopie nossp -pie -sanitize -ssp vanilla -vtv
sys-devel/binutils -cet -hardened vanilla
sys-libs/binutils-libs -cet
dev-build/libtool vanilla
dev-debug/gdb -cet vanilla

Don't forget to force the "vanilla" option. It will eliminate any
patching that may contain further bullshit.

Security? Fuck you! Not on my machines. NEVER on my machines.

backdoor. It's as interesting socially speaking than technically

Remember, he is the doofus who proclaims that "All programming is math" (It
will certainly look that way if the only "programming" you do is to solve
trivial math problems which BTW have already been solved), that a .csv file is
a "database" (Um, no. You import the .csv file INTO a database) and that one
needs to "write a computer program" to determine the field widths in a .csv
file (clueless kiddie, learn some SQL).

Nope. My distro wants nothing. My distro tell me what can be installed
and I chose what I want to install. From the boot (LILO, GRUB or from
UEFI) to the choice of Window Manager. The core programs installed by
default are only there to let me install everything else.

You can't understand that because you never managed to pass the
installation of the core programs of Gentoo. You are the only one in the
world who never managed to complete the installation of his distro. And
now installing Linux, with a distro considered difficult by some, is way
easier than installing slackware thirty years ago.

Of course. Nobody would use Linux without a distro. That's the purpose
of a distro.

The LFS user aren't using it, they spend all their time to install
things and upgrade it. There is nothing wrong with that. It's a pretty
good way to learn, but one need a lot of time for that.

Writing that C program was exponentially more difficult than importing
..csv files into a dbms and using SQL. But now it runs instantaneously
with almost no work on my part.

Anyway, I just now figured out something cool in SQLite:

Run this query (replace tblname with the actual table name)

SELECT "SELECT '" || name || "' AS Column, MAX(LENGTH(" || name || "))
AS MAXLEN FROM tblname UNION ALL " FROM PRAGMA_TABLE_INFO('tblname');

It will return a row for each column in the table.

Paste all the results into a SQL editor window, delete the final 'UNION
ALL', terminate the SQL and run it and you get the max width of the data
in each column. I did it for a table named 'XOVER'.
